compositing software like Shake and Nuke have an elegant workflow in managing multiple panels. By simply hovering your mouse over a panel and pressing 'spacebar' it is maximized, hiding the other panels. then pressing spacebar again then exits maximize mode.
an identical feature for AM would be equally useful. instead of having to hit [command+5, 6 or 7] to open and close each of the panels, all can be solved with a single hotkey.
