Retrigger-able SSpat

One of my favourite Mulch contraptions is SSpat, simply because it allows me to achieve a complex effect with a really simple interface.

At the moment, SSpat is tied to the master clock – you press play, and it pans incoming audio around, and around, until you stop.

It would be really nifty if SSpat had a sort of retrigger input that responded to an adjustable gate so, effectively, you could fire the contraption at will. I would like to be able to plug my bass into Mulch, patch it through SSpat and, every time I strike the strings, each note gets catapulted along the stereo path. In this case, I would patch the bass’ audio through both the audio input and this imaginary retrigger input, but there could be many more applications!

I have a lot of fun with my bass and SSpat already, but it sometimes sounds a bit odd when I play a note that falls in the quieter or, if I’ve adjusted it so, Doppler-shifted parts of the cycle. I can achieve a compromise by mixing the dry and spatialised sounds together, but it’s just not the same!

this would be great!

Maybe a sidechain and input threshold trigger.
But would be interesting to switch it to manual, too. Then a rising automation (reversed sawthooth) go through the curves once. Jumps are possible, then.

Exactly! A trigger, much like that on SouthPole.

An equal mode for southpole must be interesting, too, an mode that triggers one snapshot ones, in whole, instead of only one envelope.

Mostly its a short chain of envelopes. A delayed trigger, in southpole itself to seperate one signal, would do it also.

The modular envelopesystem, or logicsystem I'm thinking of, is capable to do it without new knobs. In a background view of the patcher you can connect a limiter/compressor/or noisegate, multiple instances afterwards ,to southpole. Their reductionfrequency or threshold triggers it. Weather to add a delay by a second connection or by a contraption in your effect chain is your decision.
The system makes it possible to use even "drums"contraptions without their audio. The line of your choise controls/triggers the partners in the web, a crossfader with an fast envelope, a southpole without an addition, for generating a Mulchmade snare: every drumtrigger a snare without a sample!

To Mr Fossy in particular: The system uses the sspat as a complexLFO interstation so every effect makes a round to your trigger.
