AudioMulch spots all the MIDI ports connected to my Mac Pro but does not apparently 'see' the USB connected MIDI controllers I have connected. AudioMulch does see the MIDI ports on the controllers however!

I am very new to AudioMulch so I am assuming I am doing/not doing something daft!

Does AudioMulch require that I connect devices to MIDI ports as opposed to connecting via USB?

I am running AudioMulch 2.0.2

Hi. Firstly, please upgrade to 2.0.3 -- it may improve things (it may not), but it will help diagnose the problem if I know you're using the latest version.

What USB devices are you using?

There could be a bug in AudioMulch with some MIDI devices/drivers on OSX - I've done some work to resolve this in the updates since 2.0.0 but there may still be some devices which have problems.

For now, the best workaround would be to create an IAC device for your USB controller using Apple's MIDI manager and then use that device in AM.

We're working on overhauling the MIDI device identification system for AM2.1 so I expect this to be resolved once and for all by then, if not sooner.

2.0.3 resolved things.

Was 2.0.3 released very recently? As in the last few hours?

I ran the 'Check for Updates' link and it was reporting - I have the current version. Now I have updated to 2.0.3 it tells me there is an update (to 2.0.3).

Small beer... the main thing is I can now direct MIDI input into audiomulch.

Good to hear the issue is resolved.

2.0.2 was released a while ago. Sounds like the update check is broken somehow. I'll look into it.

Thanks

Ross.

I just upgraded to 2.0.3 and plugged in my new M-audio AXIOM49 controller keyboard via the USB port. I cannot seem to get audio mulch to 'see' it. When I go to preferences->MIDI control, I see the grid with all of the MIDI controllers, but all of them are empty. Anybody have any ideas?

Big Fat User Error!!! =:-)

After posting my last reply, I realized that I had turned on my MIDI controller AFTER starting Audiomulch. On a hunch I restarted Audiomulch and voila!!! Everything works. Sorry about that .....

Yeah. We will be adding dynamic rescan for MIDI devices "soon" (I would like to say for 2.1 but I'm not sure it will make it yet).
