seems no request for this
in the Metasurface Parameters column
an option for per parameters
snap to nearest value ( in this case snapshot)
especially for the "Pitch / Tune " Automation
would be very useful.

Can you explain a bit more what you have in mind for this? How would it work? How would you interact with it? Thanks :)

hi
here is the example usage:
let say i want to automate Guru's Engine 1 Tone (pitch)
i have two snapshot for this in snapshot 1 Tone value (-3) in snapshot 2 tone value (+4)
X Y automation between snapshots will make this tone transition smooth which is i don't want ...
in this example they don't fit to song harmonies ....so i don't want to hear -2 ,-1,0,+1,+2,+3 pitches
snap to nearest that i mention will make this transition some kind of "toggle" (?) between this two value -3 / +4 ..
in the Metasurface when mouse cursor close to snapshot 1 , tune will jump to -3 ... when the cursor close to snapshot 2 tune will jump to +4 ..
i hope this explains what i mention .

That makes sense. I understand now. You want a way to select which parameters glide, and which "snap to closest".

I think this is doable in the future. Right now some parameters that should behave this way (eg mutes, matrix cells) don't -- that's been reported as a bug. Also if Metasurface could switch samples (for loop player, drums) it would *have* to be able to snap like this. Probably the same applies for switching contraption presets or VST programs.

thank you for your consideration.

I'll second this request.
I can immediately see some things I'd like to do with this sort of ability.

I have something similar to say: I have a new sort of automation. It´s a flag automation of constant values in mulch, and saves not only amounts of snapshots in mulch, but makes automation more vivid. For example the notes of bassline. You could automate one note of a melodyline and change it sometimes, but the flag would only refer to this snapshot, because in lack of this, you have to change it every time you change the snapshot and with it you could vary your snapshots as slow, but continuus as you want . The flag automation is realised in this way, that you can choose the parameter in the flag from a list special for the parameter. In the case of a note you can also choose a diced note of e.g. C- Dur, G- Moll; Gis-Dur/Moll; all b or # notes and others systems. The container could include this type, too.

Something reffering is, that you shall be able to globaly insert a key(like C-Dur) to a mulch project and let a automationline snap the frequencies (or the automation points; I don´t now which) to a note from this scale. This could be selectable from a button in front of the automationlane(or better that it follows you but in the windows front. of cause it´s remaining in the lane). The clue is, that the scale could be automated along the project, too (with flags). This can be helpful to set your mood at one space of time(+ change it fast e.g. if you copy this space). Doable, if an arpeggiator follow the key. or a bassline pattern is linked to it: one(two, three..) key(s)-one pattern, other key(s)- other pattern. The last could be no saving of time but... it´s musical.
I will post another appliance to "piano roll/midi sequencer"- topic next time.

Dur and Moll are German for major(Dur) and minor(Moll) I thought the words were international.

Why I posted the last comment in this topic:
If you can only switch between the for examples two note-values of two snapshots in the metasurface,
they cannot fit to the rest of a mulch´s project over time, only if you change to a snapshot that fits. I think, you have to do this all the time.
Although there should be varying pitches per snapshot, there could be a global scale, after that the mood is going throughout the time.
This scale could be ruled by the low (bass) keys of the played keyboard. Or it can be set by the automation sort, I have described in my last post.
