When trying to use the Polylblit VST Synth with AM on Mac OS X, I tried to follow AM's online resource on how to install VSTs, but it doesn't seem to be working. I couldn't find the folder that the guide references so I directed AM to look for VSTs in a VST folder I created titled "VST PLUGINS." When I downloaded Polylblit, it didn't appear to require any special installer, so I just unzipped the file and moved it into the VST PLUGIN.

According to the guide, it says at this point I should be able to double click in AM and find an option for creating VST contraption, but all I see are the usual contraption options and no VSTs. From what I've described, does anyone know what is going wrong?

I feel like I'm not nearly as computer saavvy as most people working in AM and other music programs, so please tell me if there are any glaring errors I may have made based on my description.

Thanks!

Hello and welcome.

I did a quick google search and the Polyblit VST I found is for Windows only: http://www.bostreammail.net/ers/polyiblit.html
It's a .dll file, which is a Windows plugin file. Perhaps that explains it? or did you find a Mac version somewhere?

What you say about the vst plugins folder sounds OK. Usually plugins are installed in /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST on the Mac. This is described here:

If you're looking for plugins, kvraudio maintains a large database of free and commercial plugins:
