Comments: "There are tons of little "widgets" (as we call them) throughout the record, i.e. detailed little production things that may or may not be integral to the songs but provide depth and variety.  A *ton* of that ear candy was done with Mulch.  Vocal processing, synth mangling, granular synthesis everwhere you look... some subtle things on the strings in the first song, we really used Mulch all over the place.  If you listen with headphones you'll hear a lot of those kind of details.  There are also some nice "foreground" bits that have been through Mulch; one that comes to mind is this kind of swimmy synth pad that comes in a couple minutes into "sunday rain likely".  I think Brad has something like that also happening during the bridge of "blue" -- not sure if that was Mulch or not but I think so.
Generally we dropped a few tracks into Mulch and started mangling away, eventually exporting the part and dropping it back into our multitrack views.  I found this to be a great way to work... I got the tactile/inspirational/easy Mulch way of tweaking audio, but then I was able to distill the results into focused, useful production parts."

Comments: xenoton writes: "if there is a release that has massive audiomulch on it, then it surely is my `interkosmos' [...] almost any sound was created "somewhere else" (reaktor, fruity loops, cubase+softsynths) first, but then sent through audiomulch postprocessing before it finally was arranged in cubase.
e.g.: I love the DLGranulator and the Nebuliser which create (together with some flanging and a timed delay) some fantastic pads (from very usual sounds) you don´t get anywhere else."

Artist: Chris Becker
Release: Saints & Devils
Release Type: CD EP
Track(s): The Preacher And The Devil
Release Date: May 2003
Label: Beckeresque Music
URL(s): http://www.beckermusic.com/ saintsanddevils.html
Comments: Chris writes: "The Preacher And The Devil features two vocalists: The Reverend Vince Anderson and James Hall (singing excerpts from Robert Johnson’s classic Cross Road Blues). Dropping in and out of this mix are vocal passages I processed in AudioMulch’s DLGranulator. I recorded vocal excerpts as looping material through DLGranulator (while experimenting with a variety of slider settings) as extended "takes" synced to the bpm of the drum track I had created for The Preacher And The Devil. I then selected short passages from my recorded performances, dropped the edits into a multitrack session over my beats and (using the mouse, my eyes, and my ears) nudged each edit until they locked into the track’s groove. I often rely on editing my hand/eye/ear in order to tighten up grooves built up with material from various sources.
To my complete surprise, this single continues to get airplay on independent and college radio stations here in the U.S. and overseas.
"'The Preacher & The Devil' kicks a lot of ass...
the song hits me like a white-knuckle parable with deep beats."

It is a collage of spoken texts on anarchy, sine waves and samples from maru's past projects as well as samples of traditional and contemporary music.
All these sounds are randomly processed through audiomulch. This way new combinations and new meanings occur.
Often reaction replaces action in these recordings.
Electronic throat singing.

I've made extensive use of the Risset tones and the 10-harmonic generator for live performances, in which a steady base of ultra-concentrated sound was needed as a counterpoint to other musicians' improvisations. These have also been crucial to a recent outdoor sound installation of mine, in which the sounds were doing battle with the rumble of downtown traffic"
