i am wondering if using the onboard sound driver will degrade the sound quality....

with this driver you pass the audio into the sound card in the motherboard...so it is colored by it...and this is a very cheap sound card ...(mine is cheap lol)

with vac ...will the sound be better? where the sound pass? in what matérial...in nothing?in the processor?

could someone make this more clear ?

i am asking pro lol:

method one : vac to asioforall to sound card (7.1 asus xonar d2)
method two : vac to direcsound to sound card
method 3: onboard audio to direct sound to soundcard.

or...send the audio to the pdif out...and take an optical cable ..to the spdif in...(no moere use of vac...) and after this i can use asiofor all to send the audio to the sound card..

If you do a composition in AM (or anything else) and render it, it has nothing to do with your soundcard. Everything is generated by software to a file so the soundcard only outputs the sound. Everything stays in the digital realm.

The only thing that would degrade it is if you record something through the line-in of the soundcard. It's analog to digital.

Better soundcard means better quality when recording outboard stuff and listening to anything.

On Windows I recommend using AudioMulch straight to Asio4All (no VAC). Just select ASIO as the driver type in AudioMulch. If you use WMME or DirectSound then AudioMulch sends the data as 16 bit to the Windows mixer, then Windows does its thing to it before sending it to the soundcard. ASIO will give you the best direct path to the soundcard and will be full 24 bit if the soundcard supports it.
