Its been posted before, but I sure hope you could find the time to make the drums able to have more than 16 bars in them. 64 would be perfect but I would settle at 32 :) possibly just being able to grab the right edge and pull it out to reveal more bars ...endlessly so we could arrive at any number!!!(?) Im happy to keep adding more and more drums contraptions as needed so no need for extra instrument lanes. I use them mostly to trigger samples and thus Multi outs would be insanely nice of you but I would be happy just to see stereo out at the moment.
The ability it nudge seperate tracks back and forth one step at a time would be awesome, so too a swing setting and divisions from 1/4 down to 1/128th.

All contraptions and leads should be able to be colour coded as we wish and so too being able to name evrything. Particularly tracks on the mixer, it gets difficult trying to trace stuff back to the mixer with hundreds of contraptions and leads everywhere.

And ultimately to pursue the concept raised before about making "super contraptions" that you could assemble and save like an effects chain and shrink down to one contraption that you could name as yours after birth, with the ability to save and recall when needed for any other project. This will really take AM to a new place, esp with users being able to create and share contraptions, contraptions that would house both your native effects and instruments as well as 3rd party VST/i's.

I look forward to whats coming up, Im sure youre busy and its hard to stay patient, and it must be even harder still for you having to field all these"requests" - but youre in an envious position cos AudioMulch isnt too far away from becoming one of the Greatest Applications on the market ( if my opinion means anything?) So very biased of me, cos Mulch is at the core of most of my Creations....with a lil bit more here and there it will be ALL i'll I ever need from go to woah!

Cheers Ross,
All the best.

I'm not sure if I misunderstand you but this is already possible. There is no limit to the number of bars you can drag out, just grab the right edge in the time ruler and drag it.

The other things are on the list for the future. Software development takes time unfortunately.. one thing at a time.

No, sorry, that's a destructive edit operation, it can't be automated (can't see that happening any time soon either). I am considering adding a "Phase" parameter to the Drums though (like the LoopPlayer currently has).

I'd like to be able to set the left loop marker if possible.

After playing with v2 demo for a short while a few things that i would like to request

- the new gui really hurts my eyes. I would love an option to turn it back to the good old white with grey. Also, i miss not being able to load my own picture into the background of the properties area like in v1 (or is it possible and i cant find it?)

- as awesome as the new drum contraption is i really miss the "blocks" as compared to the triangles, and an option to change between them would be cool. The bright white line running thru each track is visually "challenging" and make my eyes blurrrr.

-changing the time selection in the drums from the left would also be much appreciated...and very cool!

-MEDIA EXPLORER: man, i so wish Mulch had one, esp when previewing hits, samples and clips, with a simple drag and drop feature would be perfect, so too a dedicated volume, play, pause, stop transport thingy.

-I so too wish that all File Players and Recorders had a visual representation of the wave and I was able to set beginning and end markers for what I want to play/loop, A simple ADSR here would also be great. As a hint check out One Small Clue's, Poise. An MPC style sample player, but the drag n drop with ADSR on all sounds plus pitch, volume, etc is really simple, quick and nifty. A really well realised tool. This kind of approach could be implemented into Mulch in the best possible way that would open its capabilities ten fold.

- i wont mention ReWire and the ability to openAM as a VST cos we all have said it before ;)

-More MIDI. A MIDI recorder and sends would be great, and too the ability to open a VSTi's menu from the window header to load and save sounds. Also to be able to play one synth at a time without having to change MIDI channels. A MIDI "on/engage" button on the contraption would be perfect as a way of acheiving this.

- a piano roll/ sequencer type contraption

Something to mulch on.
Cheers.

i'm defs with you here on the media explorer and the small additions to the file/loop players. waveform view would be awesome, just so it's possible to quickly select a piece from the file and only play that, rather than having to throw it into a wave editor to chop it up.

also, AM is visually such a mess right now. i much prefer using AM1 right now because of it. weird colours, blurry elements, stuttery graphics, it hurts my eyes so much so i'm definitely with you there as well.

if the Drum Contraption could send MIDI this would be a workaround for a sequencer contraption.
MIDI Drum Contraption = Awesome!

- bypass buttons on all contraptions.

- bypass which doesnt disconnect the contraption.

- Wet/Dry knobs for all contraptions and VSTs

would be handy to have that all built in.. you can more or less do the wet dry/bypass thing w/a crossfader but you'll need a lot of them in a patch

i prefer the bars in the v.1 drum player as opposed to the triangles in v.2.1 .... And to take it further, it would be great if the heights of the bars was adjustable so as to affect volume +/or velocity just like in good old Notator. (still the simplest/best midi sequencer ever made).

The drum player also needs a marquee select-copy-paste function. Writing out 128 bars of convoluted polyrhythmic drum syncopations without it takes an entire afternoon!

To be able to set the loop area from the left as well as the right would be handy.

It would also be cool if clicking on the drum name would play the sound instead of bringing up the library window as well. Possibly a modifier for that? (Optional?) And this could insert that sound onto the drum grid as it plays? (Optional toggle switch for this behaviour, possibly?) The DrumPlayer as it stands with the new features is almost perfect for complete beat making badness. I love its immediacy and simplicity, with a few tweaks it will be perfect.

(IMO)

Great work Ross.

I was definitely hoping to see some velocities for the drums but I guess we'll have to wait. The left marker is also something I'd like to see. Ultimately multi-outs, sample pitch, per note pitch (could be interesting for non drum samples).

sure it can be automated, not directly; use drum prefabs and automate them, Duplicate drum and crossfade them, and best way probably would be the SDelay.

For a new Drum pad Id be glad to be able to make different types of beats not only 4/4. So one could choose how many beats there are in a bar because it gets really annoying zooming in an out, especially when you need like 50.
And I can see another one mentioning Stereo drums which is a MUST GO. Use +/- buttons or a menu even better, to decide how many inputs and outputs the patchs got. Same would go for mixers, no more m2, m3, m4, s2, s4... mixers.
When adding menues to a patch in the patcher field, one could as well add a preview to the patch, for example tweaking an SGain in the Patcher region would be way more practical than opening it and looking for it in the properties panel.

regards, azul

You can do beats in other time signature. Check the help file out.
