Connect external analog synth to Audiomulch to play live

Hi,

How could I connect my analog synth to Audiomulch? I would like to play the synth  like a file player patch and use the effects live (no samples). Is it possible?

I'm a beginner with Audiomulch, using the trial version, but I will purchase it for sure.

(Sorry for my bad english)

Use a SoundIn contraption, routed so that it's your analogue input. You can either record what you play for later processing, or play it "live" through AudioMulch contraptions or VST effects, monitoring the wet signal through the SoundOut. You'll get whatever latency there is though.

Thanks for your answer.

Can you tell me how to "connect" the analog synth to the computer ?  Do I need a Midi/CV interface or something like that. The synth is hand-made and have no midi.

I was a kind of "die-hard analog" and it's the first time I use a software to produce.

Thanks

Or even do both - play live and record simultaneously for processing on the fly. The sound processing facilities AM offers are ideal for an analog synth, and once you've set up some processing chain patches and configured the metasurface, you can have a whale of a time.

Cristiano Bocci's youtube video shows some of the processing possibilities:

I believe this has been answered. Luca's 2nd message didn't post for a while, so he and I figured out how to get his setup working through PMs.

Sorry guys, moderating spam (100s per day) is taking time away from moderating real traffic. If you have any useful solution information from your PM please consider adding it to the thread for future readers.

Luca, to record an external source (your synth) into a computer DAW (software/processing/mixing) you need an audio interface. Most audio intercaces will have two kinds of inputs, one for intruments (often labelled DI), and one for microphones (often labelled Mic). You will probably want to use the DI input for your analogue synth. The audio interface will probably have some driver/mixer/analyser softwware, which you will need to configure. You will also then need to configure the audio inputs and outputs in the AudioMulch settings page. I can't be more specific without knowing exactly which interface you are usiong. The interface manual and the Audiomulch manual should both be very helpful in this regard.

Once everything is set up, it can just be a matter of using the "SoundIn" contraption in Audiomulch linked to a "SoundOut" contraption for recording. You can then play back your file either with a "FilePlayer" contraption, or the "SoundIn" again.

Hope that was helpful!

@Ross: I'm not entirely sure, but I think the issue may have been enabling audio in the AM main window.
