This may be a very amateur question, but I just downloaded the program yesterday. I am just trying to get started chopping up some songs in my itunes, and I need a way to convert the files, so that audiomulch will support them. Thanks!

you can do this very easily in itunes.
Preferences>General>Import settings...switch it to WAV
now under Advanced is a "create WAV version" then you can drag and drop it onto the desktop or wherever and go. Be aware that if you import something, it will in wav format unless you change it back.
