Fairly frequently deleting contraps in patcher pane works sporadically.
Behaviour:
- Keyboard delete key does not work
- Right click - delete, works on the second try

Which OS please Brendon?

How frequently? If you start up AM and create 10 contraptions can you delete them all without seeing this issue?

Thanks

Oops sorry...
Windows XP SP2
AM 2.1.1

I restarted AM and opened 10 contraptions. I did this 4 times:
- 1st time: 1st contrap I selected would not delete with right click delete
- 2nd and 3rd time: no problems with right click
- 4th time: 1st contrap I selected would not delete using delete key. After deselecting then reselecting, delete key worked (this is how it normally behaves when delete key doesn't work).

So I would say - pretty frequently.

On Windows XP SP2, AM 2.1.1 here I just created 40 contraptions (combination of dragging from palette and right-click create) I tried deleting using right-click delete and also using the delete key. I didn't have a problem once.

Either there is something special about the way you are creating the contraptions or deleting them, or there is something else going on on with you computer that doesn't happen here.

Since no one else has reported this (and AM2.1.1 has been out a long time now). I'm inclined to think it's your setup. Of course, I'd be happy to hear from anyone else who's having problems.

Thanks

Ross

hi Ross

(Sorry for the slow reply - I've set up notifications in forum settings now)

Okay, I'll keep an eye out for the problem and see if I pick up any patterns. This problem might also be related to the one I reported on about patches occasionally becoming un-retrievable off the edge of the patcher screen.

At any rate, this is not a problem serious enough to make using AM unusable.

I guess my laptop may just embody some kind of Bermuda triangle where inexplicable bugs appear :)

Hi Brendon

The other possibility with "Bermuda Triangle" type issues is that you have some other software installed that is interfering (seems strange though). Or perhaps it's a VST plugin -- but I'd expect you'd have to have it open for it to possibly cause problems. From what you've said above, I guess you get this issue even when you're only using built-in AudioMulch contraptions. Is that correct?

Thanks

Ross
