20/12/2001 AudioMulch 0.9b9 Release NotesAudioMulch version 0.9b9 is now available from the download page. This version will expire on March 20th 2002. AudioMulch version 0.9b9 incorporates a new streaming sound file subsystem which supports WAV and AIFF sound files, higher bit depths (including 24bit and floating point), and efficient playback of many sound files simultaneously. A new File Player contraption has been added to allow playback of multiple sound files. Memory resident samples such as those used by LoopPlayer, Drums and BubbleBlower are now loaded in the background and retained across preset changes. This addresses previous problems with sample loading causing clicks in the real-time audio stream. At present, SoundIn and the new FilePlayer contraption can be used to stream long sound files from disk. Other sound file playing contraptions are planned for the future.
